American plastic is a long-term project to study the surreal and clinical nature of towns in middle America. For the past few years, I have been fascinated by how young and artificial this country is. The imagery collected doesn’t feel real, the environment feels like a terrarium. Throughout this project, I have begun to situate myself in the role between viewer and member of the community. The critique is far from over and I continue to add imagery to flesh out my vision.
